Over the years, we have developed many strengths that form the basis of client trust in our services and support.
1. Revised editing is our leading strength.
The NAI reputation is especially strong in revision editing. This is because:
1) Most of our editors are experienced peer reviewers of journals, and understand very well how to provide precise and most helpful feedback toward the goal of acceptance for publication.
2) We do not consider a revised manuscript a new request, even if you are planning on submitting to a different journal. Except for any unavoidable situations, the editor who initially took care of the editing will edit the revised manuscript. In other words, we have established a consistent, integrated support system.
3) We have a deep pool of editors with rich experience in peer review, ready to work in a wide range of disciplines, and we keep meticulous records of work so that regular clients receive maximum benefit from our experience working with them and their unique needs are met.
We understand the seriousness of paper revision, as journals and peer reviewers continually seek to raise their standards for publication. Papers are screened not just for errors, but for readability and logic. To achieve a successful submission, NAI has its feet in the shoes of the client, "thoroughly and precisely".
2. As our pool of editors and translators is deep, we take an extra-rigorous approach to selection and after recruitment.
Editors
We carefully check the work history of our prospective editors, who must pass testing based on their specialty. Our accomplished domain specific senior editors verify the quality of new editors' test performance in the same domain. Following this, our chief editor performs a thorough check of the test. After the applicant clears these rounds, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is signed along with the contract.
New editors are first assigned in parallel with an experienced editor. Only after successfully passing these stages does a new editor take the lead on assignments in their domain.
Due to this level of rigor, the NAI rate of acceptance among applicants seeking to work for us is approximately 10%. Even after an individual begins working with us as an editor, regular spot checking and review ensure their quality of work remains impeccably high.
Translators
NAI established its original business strictly on the foundation of editing and proofreading to ensure the highest level of publication-worthy quality. This limited focus was part of the reason for our success. However, the successful core business inevitably led to ever increasing requests for translation services year by year. We finally began to fulfill those requests after a thorough search through our expanding network of universities and institutions and thorough testing to qualify a very small initial group of specialists whom we were absolutely certain could deliver excellent translation work in their respective fields of expertise. Today, we apply the same strict screening and testing to qualify our translators, and in this way we have slowly and steadily expanded to many fields in which we can impeccably fulfill translation requests, while our network of university, institution, and publication contacts grows apace as well. This is how we have been able to extend our high standard of quality beyond our founding scope in editing and proofreading to translation in many specialized fields.
3. Providing diligent and high-quality support more than demanded in any service.
No matter how fine the expression of language or how courteous is the support, all efforts are meaningless if an academic paper is rejected. Journals qualify submissions on much more than the quality of language. They also judge on the logic and quality of argument in the context of current developments and advancements in a given field. This is why it is so essential to have scientific papers edited by editors with the experience and insight to understand the subject matter of the paper before submission. Only at this level can language be tuned for its precise intent and only at this level can an author also be alerted to the most critical potential concerns of a publisher. This is the distinguishing level of service that our clients have come to expect in NAI's twenty years of doing business.
That is the "Proof" of our 20 years of accomplishments. More than anything, at NAI we provide utmost support to you "more than expected" for outstanding results by meeting our customers' needs.
4. We don't sell. We listen. Our commitment is to fully understand the client's requirements, as well as those of the journal targetted for publication, in the context of the subject discipline.
The typical client engagement at NAI includes an initial face-to-face meeting to ensure full understading of the client's goals and challenges. It is a step that takes time which many avoid, but it ultimately saves time and improves quality through greater certainty of purpose and requirements.
We listen. We confirm our understanding. We tailor our proposal accordingly, and in this way each new client is assured of the highest quality result based specifically on their needs.
5. Our coordinators (internal staff) also have experience of writing English scientific papers.
Our hiring policy for our coordinators insists on experience related to academic papers and strong English ability. This policy ensures that our day-to-day operations and communications are performed with our clients' goals and priorities fully understood. This also enhances enjoyment of a job with a sense of purpose. It is a pillar of our company to have pride and pleasure in our role for the advancement of science in many fields. This is NAI.
